Messmans' Wedding, August 2005

In the late summer of 2005 my old room-mate from university days decided it was time for him to settle down and tied the knot in some style. The Messmans' wedding took place at Westminster Cathedral while the reception was a lavish affair at the RAC Club on Pall Mall.

Syria, Summer 2005

After months of threatening to, finally in July 2005 Lisa and I set off for Syria. We spent three weeks in Damascus studying and exploring the old town, then set off round the coast and hinterland to discover some of the rich archaeological remains there.

Southend, June 2005

In June 2005 Lisa and I went on a trip to Southend for a weekend by the seaside. We walked all the way down the longest pier in the world, sat in a pub drinking all night and even managed to walk on water.

San Francisco, January 2005

After Deep decided to marry a yank and relocate to San Francisco, it was only a matter of time before Mark and I abused their hospitality to explore the West Coast. Santacon, December 2004

It's the weekend before Christmas and you haven't even started buying presents. It should be a time to get realistic. But before Christmas 2004 I passed precious hours with another 250 Santa Clauses on a pub crawl round central London.

The Cape Town Connection, 2000-2001

After university Alistair and I couldn't think of anything better to do that grab a couple of bikes and set off on a lunatic mission to cycle home from the end Africa. The Cape Town Connection followed, a hair raising adventure through 15 countries and over 10,500 miles.
